Kevin’s multifamily experience ranges from a 99-unit, 4-building apartment complex owned by a national banking firm to a number of duplexes owned by local Denver-area investors. He has leased and managed high-end residential properties in neighborhoods such as Washington Park as well as low-rent properties in marginal neighborhoods with challenging tenant profiles. Kevin has also acted as a receiver for properties in foreclosure including a multi-building apartment community for Washington Mutual (WaMu). He also has experience in buying and selling properties along Fast Track and Light Rail lines with potential for future transit-oriented development (TOD) and/or assemblages.
Kevin’s particular strengths in multifamily include his unusual balance of excellent people skills combined with an exceptional facility for numbers.
As a graduate of the University of Colorado, School of Engineering with a degree in Computer Science, he is a self-described “finance geek” whose analytical and number crunching skills, and affinity for spread sheets are a significant asset to clients when evaluating investment opportunities. Buyers appreciate his ability to effectively analyze potential and returns, and to find deals that work. Sellers appreciate his sophistication in positioning a property for sale. And owners of both stripes find his management, leasing and cost-containment skills invaluable for the properties they hold.
On the “people” side, Kevin’s ability to build rapport with everyone – from sophisticated financiers, to tenant prospects, to general contractors, to city officials to the maintenance man who picks up litter -- makes him a popular and effective apartment manager and leasing agent.
Kevin’s background includes a stint in residential real estate with Keller Williams where he was both Rookie of the Year in his first year and a top-three producer in an office of over 150 agents. He also served as the recruiting committee chair, the mentor for new agents as well as the technology committee chairperson due to his six years of experience with a large Denver software company that specialized in ERP (enterprise resource planning). At that company, Kevin began as a software developer and rose through the ranks to become a team leader and then a manager over 35 people and multiple projects.
Kevin finds great satisfaction as a property manager and broker for investment real estate. He enjoys identifying good deals, running the numbers and then presenting the best opportunities to clients and investors. He also enjoys working with the broad spectrum of people his job brings him into contact with. But his greatest satisfaction comes from being involved in an industry that gives him the opportunity to increase wealth for his clients with a hands-on approach. Unlike the stock market where investors are at the mercy of forces far beyond them, with investment real estate, Kevin can identify a property for a client, take on the leasing and management -- clean it up, fix it up and fill it up -- and increase value in a very immediate, direct, measurable and deeply satisfying way – for himself and his clients.
